The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has distanced itself from the recent violent protests in Onitsha which claimed over nine lives.

The movement said the violence was being perpetrated by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB‎ which also resulted in the destruction of property.

MASSOB according to Vanguard, said it was not a violent group and condemned the acts of violence being perpetrated by the IPOB.

“MASSOB is not in support of the killings and destruction of property. We are not against any group in Iboland but not to the extent of killing ‎innocent people and destroying property,” Zonal leader of MASSOB in Delta North, Mr Chinedu Amaifeobu, said.

Amaifeobu also expressed confidence that they would actualize Biafra without violence.
