The Ministry of Interior in Nigeria has denied issuing any statement regarding public holidays for the yuletide season.

According to the spokesman for the ministry, Afonja Ajibola, the ministry had not released any statement on the matter and the media reports claiming that the Federal Government had declared December 26th, 27th, and January 2nd, 2023 as public holidays are false.

Ajibola stated that the Federal Government has not yet made a formal announcement on the issue of public holidays for the holiday season and urged members of the public to disregard the misinformation that has been circulating in the media.

He advised the public to wait for a formal announcement on the matter, which is expected to be made in the coming days.

The ministry advises the public to be cautious and to always verify the accuracy of any news or information before sharing it, particularly in the current climate of fake news and misinformation.

In the meantime, the ministry advises the public to continue going about their daily activities as usual and to await a formal announcement on the matter of public holidays.
