Mob Sets Police Post in Jos On Fire, over PDP’s Burnt Vehicles

After setting ablaze two buses belonging to President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in Jos, Plateau State, a mob again on Sunday descended on a Police post along Bauchi road, setting it ablaze.

THISDAY gathered that the recent riot broke out when the Special Task Force (STF) deployed to restore peace in the state stormed Bauchi road on Sunday morning where one of the buses was set
ablaze and arrested six youths.

The arrest of the youths, whom some members of the community claimed were innocent, led to a riot, with the STF soldiers shooting sporadically in the air to disperse the mob.

The mob then took to the streets, a development that degenerated into a riot, leading to the burning down of the Police post.

When contacted on telephone, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Nasiru Oki confirmed the incident, and said investigations are ongoing.
