Morocco has made history by becoming the first African team to reach the semifinals of the World Cup. The Atlas Lions beat Portugal 1-0 in the quarter-final match on Saturday, thanks to a first-half goal from Youssef En-Nesyri.

The North Africans will now face the winner of the England vs. France match on Wednesday.

The game started with Portugal having the better chances, with Joao Felix narrowly missing the goal with a flying header and a shot that was deflected wide of the top corner.

But Morocco settled in and continued to push forward, scoring the crucial goal just before half-time with En-Nesyri’s header.

The victory marks a significant achievement for Moroccan football, as they advance to the semifinals for the first time in their World Cup history.

The Atlas Lions will look to continue their impressive run and make even more history in the next round.
