After spending heavy cash on top quality players last summer, the Red Devils have finished no fewer than 24 points behind the champions and that is just not good enough.
Jose needs to step up big time next season and is ready to splash more cash to further reinforce his squad this summer. If reports in the media are anything to go by then the former Blues boss is once again interested in Nemanja Matic.
The Serbian international was linked with Man United last summer and even in the winter transfer window as well.
Now, according to an exclusive report covered by the Sun , Mourinho is ready to finally secure his signature in a deal worth 35 million pounds ($45.4million).
Matic was a key member of the Chelsea side that won the 2014-15 title under the management of Jose. He was also fantastic in this season’s title winning campaign under Conte. In 35 PL appearances, the 28-year-old star scored 1 goal and provided 8 assists.
Manchester United let go Morgan Schneiderlin in January and did not replace him. They clearly lack a solid defensive midfielder in the team and must sign one this summer. Jose knows all about the qualities of Matic and he would be a top signing for the Red Devils.
The former Benfica midfielder is contracted with the Stamford Bridge club until 2019 and currently earns ( Star ) £90,000-a-week. In your opinion, should Jose sign Matic?
