Mourinho-Everton-Sept2015-1

Fresh reports have it that the Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association over his remarks about match officials after his team suffered a 3-1 home loss to Southampton on Saturday.

According to BBC Sports, the coach’s comments, the FA stated, “imply bias on the part of a match official”.

The former Real Madrid manager felt referee Robert Madley denied his club a penalty on Saturday, and he added that the officials were “afraid” to award his side spot-kicks.

Chelsea were, by that defeat, condemned to their fourth loss in eight league games this season, and as it is, they stand just four points above the relegation zone.

Mourinho had said that the clun were “always punished” by officials because “there is always a question mark” from the media.

“The penalty in this game is more than crucial because my team, at the moment, the first negative thing that happens… they collapse.

“After that the team lost even more confidence. Mentally, psychologically, the team is unbelievably down.

“If the Football Association wants to punish me they can. They don’t punish other managers.”

The one-time FC Porto coach has until October 8, 2015 to respond to the charge.
