A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing multiple crashes on the Kara Bridge.

One traveller, who has yet to be identified, was confirmed dead in the accident.

The accidents caused severe traffic congestion along the axis due to the ongoing repair works on the narrow road.

The unfortunate event left scores of motorists struggling to find their way out of Lagos.

In total, seven vehicles, including a container-laden truck, were involved in the multiple accidents.

The FRSC (Federal Road Safety Corps) Sector Commander in Ogun State, Ahmed Umar, stated that a traffic hawker was killed in the incidents.

Emergency responders are still on the scene, rescuing those who were injured.

Umar attributed the accidents to brake failure on the truck, whose driver lost control and rammed into the vehicles in front of him.
