Palma de Mallorca, SPAIN – RCD Mallorca pulled off a stunning 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Saturday, further denting Los Blancos’ LaLiga title aspirations. A dramatic stoppage-time winner from Vedat Muriqi sealed the points for Martín Demichelis’ side, who had led for much of the game before a late Madrid equalizer.

Okay News gathered that the match, part of the 2025-26 LaLiga Matchday 30, kicked off with Real Madrid dominating early possession. Despite fielding an attacking trio of Arda Güler, Brahim Díaz, and Kylian Mbappé, Álvaro Arbeloa’s men struggled to break down a resolute Mallorca defense. Mbappé, the league’s top scorer with 23 goals, was repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Leo Román, particularly in a crucial one-on-one duel in the 21st minute.

The home side took the lead against the run of play in the 41st minute. A perfect cross from Pablo Maffeo found Manu Morlanes unmarked in the box, and he calmly slotted the ball past the Madrid goalkeeper to make it 1-0 heading into the break.

Real Madrid ramped up the pressure in the second half, introducing Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and Éder Militão in search of an equalizer. Their persistence appeared to pay off in the 88th minute when Militão rose high to head home a corner, seemingly salvaging a point for the visitors.

However, Mallorca refused to settle for a draw. In the 92nd minute, Vedat Muriqi—who has now tallied 18 goals for the season—delivered a stunning strike to secure a 2-1 victory for the home side. The result is a massive boost for Mallorca in their fight against relegation, while it deals a significant blow to Real Madrid, who remain four points behind league leaders FC Barcelona in the title race.
