Murja Kunya: Kano Government Denies Involvement in TikToker’s Legal Case, Calls Allegations Mischievous

The Kano State Government has refuted claims of involvement in the ongoing legal proceedings against TikToker Murja Kunya, who stands accused of sharing inappropriate video content, contrary to state laws.

The government, through Commissioner for Information Baba Dantiye, dismissed the allegations as untrue and emphasized its commitment to upholding the separation of powers and the judiciary’s independence.

In a statement issued by Commissioner Baba Dantiye, the government clarified its stance on the matter, asserting its respect for the constitutional provisions delineating the responsibilities of the judiciary, legislature, and executive branches of government.

Dantiye emphasized that the case against Murja Kunya falls solely within the jurisdiction of the judiciary, and the government has no intention of interfering with the legal process.

The statement further addressed the specific details of Murja Kunya’s legal proceedings, noting that she was arraigned before an Upper Shari’ah Court in Nassarawa Local Government area on charges related to sharing vulgar video content on social media.
