Musiliu-Obanikoro

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro has congratulated the Governor-elect of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode on his victory in the April 11 elections.

Ambode won 811,994 votes to defeat Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 659,788 votes.

Obanikoro congratulated the incoming governor, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday, April 13, 2015 via Twitter.

“I congratulate Akinwunmi Ambode on his election into the office of Governor of Lagos State,” Obanikoro wrote.

“I urge Lagosians to support the new Governor-Elect Akinwunmi Ambode as he directs the affairs of our state in the years ahead,” he added.

Obanikoro also aspired to the governorship of the state but was defeated by Agbaje at the PDP primaries in December 2014.
