The Nigerian Air Force has announced that it will conduct its annual 10-kilometre walk and jog exercise in Abuja on Saturday. The event, according to the Air Force, is aimed at improving the health, fitness, and operational readiness of its personnel.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the exercise will take place between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. along the service lane between Karu Bridge and Mogadishu Cantonment Bridge on the Abuja–Nyanya–Keffi expressway.
Ejodame stated that the exercise emphasizes the importance of physical fitness to military efficiency and mission readiness.
He explained that the activity would lead to a temporary closure of the road to vehicles during the two-hour exercise period. According to him, necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of participants and residents.
He appreciated the public’s understanding and assured that normal traffic flow would resume immediately after the event as NAF continues to promote the well-being and performance of its officers in carrying out their duties.
