The Academic Staff Union of Nasarawa state University, Keffi, has suspended the industrial action it embarked upon since 7th March this year, calling on its members to resume work immediately.

The announcement came after the emergency meeting held by the union on Tuesday to discuss recent developments concerning the strike.

This came on heels of the government position to pay the striking lecturers only when the strike is suspended.

It would be recalled that Governor Al-Makura of Nasarawa State had on Sunday stated that the money was ready but will be paid only when the Strike is called off .

Our correspondent in Keffi reports that with the suspension of the industrial action, most students could not hold back their joy as their shouts of jubilation rented the air.
