The federal government has directed the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) to block over 9 million unregistered sim cards in the country.
Dr Isa Patanmi, minister of communications, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
“As at today, preliminary investigation revealed that we have over nine million unregistered SIM cards in Nigeria.
“I have directed the NCC to immediately block those numbers until the users present themselves,” the statement said.
