By Adamu Abubakar Isa

ABUJA, Nigeria — The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is working to resolve internal disagreements in Kano State following a meeting between the party’s leadership and representatives of the Kwankwasiyya movement.

Okay News reports that a delegation from the national leadership of the Kwankwasiyya movement met with the party’s national leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, and other NDC officials during a closed-door session that lasted several hours.

According to a statement issued by the party, discussions focused on addressing issues between the Kwankwasiyya movement and legacy NDC officials in Kano State. The party said Senator Dickson and the NDC leadership are facilitating dialogue aimed at promoting inclusion and ensuring broad participation among members.

The NDC reiterated its commitment to internal democracy, stressing that it would not impose candidates in Kano State or any other part of the country. The party described the meeting as productive and part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity within its ranks.

The party also dismissed reports claiming that results of its primary elections had been released. It stated that no official primary election results have been announced in any state and urged members of the public and party supporters to disregard any purported results currently in circulation.

The statement was signed by Osa Director Esq, National Publicity Secretary of the NDC.
