The National Examinations Council (NECO) has issued a stern warning to the public concerning a fraudulent Facebook account that falsely claims to represent its Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi. The fake profile has reportedly been used to scam unsuspecting individuals.

In a statement released to the press in Abuja on Sunday, the Council’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Azeez Sani, disclosed the development. “The Council wishes to alert the public to the existence of this fake Facebook account to prevent individuals from falling victim to these fraudsters,” he emphasized.

Mr. Sani further confirmed that the relevant security agencies have been informed about the fraudulent activity and assured that appropriate measures will be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.

This warning comes amid growing concerns about social media scams targeting Nigerians, especially those involving impersonation of public officials. NECO’s proactive stance aims to protect the integrity of its operations and safeguard the public from deception.
