The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed that about 3000 refugees are still at the border with Cameroon undergoing registration formalities before their relocation to Mubi for onward transportation back to Borno State.

This was confirmed by Director General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani Sidi who was in Mubi in the company of Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Zannah Mustapha to bolster the operation on the ground.

NEMA is collaborating with the Borno Government in transporting its indigenes who were displaced by insurgency. Other refugees that have been received by Nigerian authorities are camped at the border between Nigeria and Cameroon.

Over 2000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have been transported so far to safer locations in Mubi while 600 of the refugees have been transported back to Borno. Abdulkadir Ibrahim Zonal Information officer NEMA North East.
