Tel Aviv, Israel – Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has mocked rumours circulating on social media suggesting that he had died.
Okay News reports that Netanyahu shared a short video on his official X account on Sunday, joking about the claim while sitting at a café outside Jerusalem. In the video, he sarcastically remarked that he was “dead for coffee” as he received a hot cup of the drink, using a Hebrew expression that means loving something very much.
The Israeli leader also raised his hands toward the camera and jokingly asked viewers if they wanted to count his fingers, responding to online speculation that his recent televised address was generated using artificial intelligence after viewers claimed one hand appeared to have six fingers.
Netanyahu used the opportunity to urge Israeli citizens to continue following safety instructions during rocket alerts, saying their resilience strengthens the government, the army and the country’s intelligence agency, the Mossad.
He added that Israel was carrying out operations he could not publicly disclose but claimed the country was striking both Iran and Lebanon heavily.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly threatened to pursue and kill Netanyahu if he was still alive, according to a post by Iran’s state news agency. The development comes as the conflict involving Israel, Iran and the United States enters its third week.
