Amsterdam, Netherlands – Dutch authorities have arrested 15 people across the Netherlands over allegations of spreading propaganda linked to the Islamic State group on TikTok and attempting to radicalize others. Prosecutors said the arrests followed investigations into social media accounts that shared extremist content with Dutch-language subtitles, some of which reportedly gained over 100,000 views.
According to officials, the videos encouraged viewers to join the Islamic State and praised violence carried out in the name of the group. The suspects, aged between 16 and 53, were picked up during coordinated raids nationwide. Among those arrested are four minors, while several of the suspects are believed to hold dual nationality, with most reportedly of Syrian origin.
Okay News understands that the arrests were connected to a main suspect detained last month, whose online activity allegedly triggered a wider investigation. Authorities said the case highlights growing concerns about extremist groups using popular social media platforms to target young audiences and spread radical ideology.
The development comes amid increased efforts by European security agencies to monitor and curb online extremism. Dutch prosecutors said investigations are ongoing, as law enforcement continues to track and dismantle digital networks suspected of promoting terrorism within and beyond the country.
