The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), through its regulatory subsidiary, Nigerian Exchange Regulation Limited (NGX RegCo), has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting financial inclusion and expanding women’s participation in the capital market.

The reaffirmation followed the successful FinTribe Finance Fair 2025, which brought together more than 9,000 women interested in wealth creation and investment opportunities.

FinTribe, one of Nigeria’s leading women-focused finance communities, hosted the event to promote financial literacy and build investor confidence. NGX RegCo participated through its EquipHER initiative, which featured interactive sessions on capital market education and investment strategy.

Chief Executive Officer of NGX RegCo, Olufemi Shobanjo, urged women to take active control of their financial growth. He said the discipline used in business and personal goals could also drive successful investing.

Commending FinTribe’s commitment to education, Shobanjo noted that financial inclusion begins with awareness, stressing that women who understand market dynamics can build lasting wealth and independence.

He added that NGX Group’s technology-driven innovations, such as the NGX Invest digital platform, are simplifying access to public offers and rights issues, allowing investors to participate directly from their smart devices.

Founder of FinTribe, Jennifer Awirigwe, praised the collaboration for translating knowledge into action. She said the partnership with NGX RegCo through EquipHER had empowered women to take ownership of their financial journeys.

During the event, Shobanjo also advised participants to seek professional advice from licensed stockbrokers to navigate share ownership and investment management effectively.

The initiative aligns with NGX Group’s broader goal of building an inclusive and informed retail investor base across Nigeria, supporting sustainable market participation and economic growth.
