Niger Islamic students regain freedom after over 50 days in captivity

The students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School in Tegina town, Raffi LGA of Niger State, kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be bandits, have been released on Thursday.

This was confirmed by a government official who doesn’t want to be named as the pupils were on their way to the capital city in Minna, the Niger state capital.

On May 30, Okay.ng recalls that the gunmen abducted the students during an attack on the community.
