ABUJA, Nigeria — The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has directed successful candidates in its 2024/2025 Assistant Inspector of Customs recruitment exercise to accept their provisional appointments and complete mandatory medical and documentation requirements.
The Service issued the update in a public notice to candidates whose names appeared on the final recruitment list.
Okay News reports that the online portal for submitting medical certificates and updating candidates’ information will open on Friday, July 31, 2026, with successful applicants given one week to complete the process.
Candidates must log in to update.customs.gov.ng using their National Identification Number or the email address used during registration.
They are required to upload a valid medical certificate of fitness obtained from a government-recognised hospital and update their current state of residence on the portal.
Successful applicants must also accept the provisional appointment by clicking the “Accept Offer” button.
The Service said candidates who complete the required steps will receive a Trainee Identification Number within one week.
Applicants were advised to monitor their registered email addresses and telephone numbers for additional instructions from the Nigeria Customs Service.
Further communication will provide the dates, venues and requirements for documentation and physical screening.
The Service warned that failure to complete any of the requirements within the stated period could lead to disqualification and withdrawal of the provisional appointment.
Candidates who have not yet confirmed their status were directed to visit www.customs.gov.ng or check selected national newspapers.
The Comptroller-General of Customs congratulated the successful applicants as they prepare to begin training and employment with the Service.
