The Federal Republic of Nigeria now has an official Twitter page which was opened on June 8, 2017 around 2 pm.

The country has now joined countries like Canada, Israel, Ireland and Great Britain who have official verified Twitter accounts.

The handle now has 18 tweets, following 10 handles, 9, 616 followers and has 9 likes.

The handle @Nigeria emerged on the social media platform and the first tweet reads: “Welcome to the Twitter handle for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Africa’s largest economy, and most populous country.”

Since the first tweet and a few other introductory ones, it’s been an exchange of bants and salutations between Nigeria and other countries.
