Nigeria Super Eagles Moves Up In Latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria has moved up to 41 on the FIFA ranking which was released earlier today, they are also seventh in Africa

Despite failing to qualify for the recently concluded African Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up in the monthly FIFA global ranking.

In the ranking which was released on Thursday, March 12, the Super Eagles moved up to the 41st position, one place from 42nd of the previous month.

The Super Eagles remain the seventh best team in Africa according to the latest ranking.

Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Cape Verde Island and Senegal are all first six.

Algeria is ranked 18th and Cote d’Ivoire 20th on the global ranking.

On the global ranking, World Cup winners Germany occupy the first position on the Fifa /Coca-Cola World Ranking with Argentina and Colombia third and fourth respectively.

The biggest climbers of the month are Barbados (131st) and Bermuda (169th), both of whom have risen by 11 places by virtue of a win and a draw each.

Spain for the first time in many year are nowhere to be found in the top ten having been ranked 11th with 1130 points.
