Lai-Mohammed-Information-Minister-1-1-1-1-1-1

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information, has again appealed to Nigerians at home and in diaspora to bear with the present administration as government is doing everything possible to ensure that the difficulties and challenges afflicting the citizens are adequately addressed.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, however, called on State Governments to as a matter of necessity look inward for self-sustenance as the era of over dependence on the Federal Allocation “is being partially discouraged by the present administration.”

He noted that the “APC government is doing everything possible to diversify the economy, stressing that the over dependence on oil in the past has brought severe hardship to the nation.”

He assured Nigerians that as soon as the budget was assented to by the President, Federal Government would inject not less than N350 billion into the economy to address the hardship being faced.

“We are doing everything possible to diversify the economy, adding that the over dependence on oil has brought hardship to the nation,” he said.

Commenting on the fuel scarcity ravaging the nation, the Minister noted that the fuel issue was a global phenomenon, stressing that Federal Government has put in place a mechanism to address the issues squarely.

Speaking to journalists in Yola, he said that they were not elected to make excuses, adding that they owe the Nigerian citizens a duty to make available the Premium Motor Spirit as quickly as possible.

The Minister who spoke after inspecting some on-going road projects in the state noted that “Adamawa is richly blessed with abundant natural resources, so also other states in the country which when annexed the state will be self-dependent.”

The minister described the projects of Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow as rejuvenating Adamawa state.

Lai Mohammed said, “I am impressed with the developmental projects the governor has brought to the door steps of the people, saying that I am dazed by the quantum of road projects I saw in the state capital”.

The minister who was in the state for the wedding ceremony of the governor’s eldest son on Friday earlier embarked on a tour around road projects shortly after arrival in the state to ascertain the level of development the state witnessed since Governor Jibrilla came to power.

He noted that “from what I have seen on ground, it must have taken the governor enough economic initiative and substantial political will to make such achievements, despite the economic turmoil facing the country”.

He noted that praising the governor had become necessary, especially in view of the fact that many states were struggling to effect the payment of workers’ salary while the Adamawa governor was busy putting up solid projects in the state.
