LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician Iyun Janet Ajilore, known as St. Janet, died on Saturday, August 1, 2026, following a brief illness.
Okay News reports that Nigerian publisher and socialite Otunba Femi Davies announced the death in a statement published on Facebook on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
“St Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore), a popular Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician known for her vibrant live performances, energetic stage presence and socially unfiltered party tracks, is dead. She died after a brief illness on Saturday,” Davies said.
Ajilore performed at various social events and released party-themed songs that gained a following within the Nigerian Juju music community.
Fans and colleagues of the entertainer began posting tributes online following the announcement of her death.
