The chairman who warned that whoever stole public funds in the country should return it while also calling on all Nigerians to put hands on deck to help the commission in the war against corruption, adding that he alone could not do it, emphasising the people also have key role to play in fighting the menace.

He said, “The degree of stealing by corrupt officials in Nigeria is the worst ever in the world. Such kind of corruption has never been done anywhere in the world. We are calling on whoever stole public funds to return it honourably because what has been stolen must be returned”.

Asked by the BBC on how much so far the commission was able to recover from corrupt officials, Magu said, “I cannot tell you the exact amount so far recovered because money gets into account minute after minute.”

On why the commission might have restricted its operation to Federal Government, Magu responded that, “our operation cuts across local, state and FG. What we usually do is that, we gather information before arresting you. So, it takes time.
