ABUJA, Nigeria: Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, held a closed-door meeting with the extended leadership of the Senate at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Okay News reports that the high-level engagement addressed undisclosed matters of urgent national importance and resulted in unannounced decisions on national issues.

The legislative delegation was led by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and included the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, and the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro.

Additional lawmakers present at the meeting included Orji Uzor Kalu, representing the Abia North Senatorial District; Adamu Aliero, representing the Kebbi Central Senatorial District; Danjuma Goje, representing the Gombe Central Senatorial District; and Abdul Ningi, representing the Bauchi Central Senatorial District.
