Nigerians have taken to social media to express their opinions on the decision of the House of Representatives to cut their salaries by 50% for six months. The move is aimed at showing solidarity with Nigerians who are facing economic hardship and hunger. However, many Nigerians are not impressed, with some calling for a slash in allowances instead of salaries.

The decision was made following a motion by Rep Isiaka Ayokunle, which was amended by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu. The lawmakers will be sacrificing N108 million monthly for the next six months. However, many Nigerians believe that the move is not enough and are calling for more drastic measures to be taken.

On social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, Nigerians are expressing their opinions, with some saying that the salaries are not the issue, but rather the huge allowances that lawmakers receive. Others are calling for the return of fuel subsidies, reduction in electricity tariffs, and improvement in security. The debate continues, with many Nigerians demanding more action from their lawmakers.
