Nigeria’s Falconets have crashed out of the 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup after losing 2-1 to Spain in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Aitana Bonmati and Patri Guijarro gave La Rojita a 2-0 advantage over the West Africans in the first half of the encounter.

Nigeria resumed the second half with intent and it did not take long before they were rewarded.
Spain Send Falconets Home

Peace Efih tapped in a Rasheedat Ajibade shot parried onto her path by the Spanish goalie to get Chris Dajuma’s girls back in the game.

Despite enjoying much of the possession in the second half, Nigeria, however, failed to grab the equalizer as Spain soared to their first semi-final in the competition.
