ABUJA — Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 General Elections, outlining key timelines for screening, appeals, and primary elections.
Okay News reports that the announcement was made in a press statement issued in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on April 20, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The timetable was endorsed by the APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Elections,” the APC said.
The party explained that the document provides a comprehensive roadmap for aspirants and stakeholders across all levels.
“This is contained in the Schedule of Activities signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary, His Excellency Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, OFR,” the party added.
“The timetable outlines, among other activities, timelines for screening, appeals, and primary elections, as well as directives on the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms,” according to the schedule.
The process will begin with the issuance of a notice of election to state chapters, followed by the sale of forms and submission of completed applications.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place in early May, with results expected shortly after, before appeals are handled ahead of the primaries.
Primary elections for presidential, governorship, national assembly, and state assembly positions are expected to be conducted within May 2026, in line with the released timetable.
The document also outlines the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms, with higher fees for presidential aspirants, while concessions are provided for female, youth, and physically challenged aspirants.
“The APC reassures members, stakeholders, and Nigerians of its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent primary election that will further strengthen the Party’s internal democracy and consolidate its progressive ideals,” the APC said.
