Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) offered digital-skills support to the Nigerian Army during an August 2026 seminar on data management, according to contemporaneous reports.
NITDA Director-General Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi addressed the Army Headquarters Department of Military Secretary’s data-management and record-keeping seminar in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Okay News reports that his presentation called for broader use of data and technology in institutional decision-making, according to Northern News’ August 20 account.
Inuwa said the army should improve how it manages and analyses information and develop the skills required to use artificial intelligence within its work.
The reports said he encouraged cooperation with other government institutions and Nigerian technology developers. He also called for investment in dedicated digital infrastructure and staff capacity.
Inuwa also said NITDA would provide training to help military personnel acquire relevant digital skills. No trainee total, budget or delivery timetable was announced in the account of his address.
The published account of Inuwa’s keynote identified digital transformation and artificial intelligence as its principal themes.
