Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) received a portal for coordinating government technology systems on March 26, 2026, following a handover in Abuja, the country’s capital.
The Nigerian Government Enterprise Architecture portal provides a common framework for public institutions planning digital services. Its purpose is to help separately developed government systems exchange information and follow compatible technical standards.
Okay News reports that the handover formed part of a Nigerian-South Korean project supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency, according to accounts from NITDA and state-owned infrastructure provider Galaxy Backbone.
NITDA’s director-general, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, was represented by its director of corporate planning and strategy, Dimie Warowei, at the Continental Hotel ceremony.
The agency said the work, begun in late 2022, included revisions to the government’s enterprise architecture framework and reference models covering technology, business operations and services.
NITDA said further data and performance models were expected. The portal formed part of Nigeria’s second e-government masterplan, which sets out work on public-sector digital services.
Pilot work involved the National Identity Management Commission, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and NITDA. The institutions received training and individual digital transformation roadmaps.
Galaxy Backbone’s managing director and chief executive, Ibrahim Adeyanju, said his organisation would provide the hosting infrastructure. His account identified duplicated infrastructure and disconnected government systems as problems the shared framework was intended to address.
NITDA said Qorebox Technologies Limited deployed supporting infrastructure within Galaxy Backbone facilities, with a two-year maintenance arrangement. The agency was to manage the portal’s operations after the handover.
