Aduke Ajayi, the Nigerian gospel singer popularly known as Aduke Gold, has passed away.

The news of her demise was announced by fellow gospel artist Esther Igbekele via an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Igbekele shared a picture of the late singer, captioning it with the heartfelt words: “RIP Aduke Gold, a general has fallen.”

According to reports, Aduke Gold passed away on Monday at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State.

As of now, the cause of her death remains unknown, and her family has yet to release an official statement regarding her passing.

Aduke Gold, who was known for her powerful live performances, ventured into the music scene in the mid-2000s but began to gain widespread recognition following the release of her hit song ‘Nitori Ogo’—which means “Because of Glory”—in 2021. The song resonated with many fans and solidified her place in the gospel music industry.

Since the announcement of her death, fans and fellow celebrities have flocked to Igbekele’s Instagram post to express their condolences and mourn the loss of a beloved gospel icon.
