Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) staged a protest today, Thursday, at the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development’s office building in Abuja, okaynews.com reports.

The labour union reportedly shut down the ministry’s operations due to the alleged failure of the ministry to comply with a court ruling. This ruling mandated the reinstatement of a staff member, Comrade Victor Ekpaha, who the NLC claims was unlawfully dismissed two decades ago.

The protesting workers are demanding the full payment of Comrade Ekpaha’s outstanding salaries, allowances, and other benefits accrued over the 20-year duration of the legal battle.
