The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited recently released a statement affirming that the country currently maintains a substantial supply of petrol, sufficient to cover 30 days of demand.

The reassurance comes in the wake of temporary fuel queues that have emerged in certain parts of Lagos and a few other regions across the nation.

According to NNPC Retail, a subsidiary of the national oil company, the petrol queues observed in some areas were a result of reduced depot loadout at the Apapa facility in Lagos over a brief period.

The statement indicated that the underlying issue has been promptly resolved to prevent any prolonged disruptions.

The statement issued by NNPC Retail Ltd. stated, “NNPC Retail Ltd. notes the appearance of fuel queues in some parts of Lagos and a few other locations around the country. This is due to reduced Depot loadout in Apapa, Lagos over a few days, and the root cause has since been addressed. We assure all Nigerians that there is ample supply with sufficiency of at least 30 days.”

Assuring the public that the situation is under control, the NNPC advised motorists and the general public to refrain from panic buying, emphasizing that the distribution of petrol will return to normalcy within the coming days.
