NNPC Refutes Claim of Product Monopoly, Says No Guarantee of Lower Prices

By Oluwadara Akingbohungbe

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC has refuted responsibility for the recent petrol price hike, stating that pricing is determined by global market forces.

They clarify that there is no guarantee of lower prices with domestic refining, including the Dangote Refinery, and refute claims of attempting to monopolize product offtake from the refinery.

NNPC emphasizes that market prices will impact offtake, with no intention to become the distributor for any entity.

NNPC assert that MURIC’s statements are flawed and could incite ordinary Nigerians against the company.
