The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) have donated vehicles, including a specialised intensive care unit ambulance, to bolster healthcare and security services in Lagos State.

Okay.ng reports that the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) received two patrol vehicles, while the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute Metta, was presented with the ambulance, in a ceremony held on Wednesday.

Speaking during the vehicle handover to LSSTF, SNEPCo’s Country Security Manager, Isaac Akinjogunla, who represented the Managing Director, Ronald Adams, described the donation as a demonstration of the company’s commitment to supporting the Lagos State Government’s efforts in improving safety.

“This underscores our support for efforts by the Lagos State Government to ensure security in the state,” Akinjogunla said. “We encourage the careful usage and proper maintenance of the vehicles so that residents can truly benefit from the donation.”

Also speaking at the event, Engr. Oluwaseyi Omotowa, Chief Upstream Investment Officer at NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), represented by Mrs. Bunmi Lawson, Deputy Manager of External Relations, said the donation reflects NNPC-SNEPCo’s broader strategy of holistic social investment.

“By enhancing the operational capacity of security agencies, these vehicles will contribute to a safer environment for all residents,” Omotowa said. “This donation complements our ongoing support in education and healthcare sectors within the state.”

Executive Secretary and CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, expressed appreciation to NNPC-SNEPCo for their continued contributions.

“Together, we can work towards a safer and more secure environment where our businesses continue to thrive and our loved ones are safe,” he said.

It would be recalled that NNPC-SNEPCo previously donated 16 vehicles to enhance Lagos State’s security architecture in 2020.

At the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta, the specialised ambulance was officially handed over by David Aghaiyo, SNEPCo’s Safety and Environment Manager, on behalf of Managing Director Ronald Adams.

“The ambulance supports the broader healthcare infrastructure within the community by facilitating quick transportation and medical care,” Aghaiyo noted.

In her remarks, Mrs. Lawson, again representing NUIMS Chief Engr. Omotowa, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to improving health outcomes across the country.

“We recognize the critical role that healthcare plays in the lives of Nigerians and are dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve access to quality healthcare services,” she stated.

The Medical Director and CEO of FMC, Dr. Adedamola Dada, described the donation as an “answered prayer,” saying it would greatly enhance the facility’s ability to handle emergencies and transport patients effectively.

The donation is part of the wider social investment portfolio of NNPC-SNEPCo and its co-venture partners—TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, and Nigerian Agip Exploration—which includes scholarship awards, educational infrastructure development, healthcare interventions, and empowerment programs such as the Shell LiveWIRE scheme.
