The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it has concluded arrangements to build more retail outlets across the country.

The outlets will ensure timely and constant supply of petroleum products to Nigerians.

The Group Executive Director Commercial and Investment of the NNPC, Babatunde Adeniran, gave a hint about the additional outlets while at a meeting with the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed on Friday.

Mr Adeniran said that the plan would see the NNPC establishing three mega stations in each state, which would be located in each senatorial district.

The NNPC presently has 530 stations across Nigeria.

The move, he stressed, was part of the change agenda of the government to ensure that people do not travel far before buying fuel.

Reacting, Governor Ahmed expressed readiness of his government to ensure that the proposed mega stations take off soonest, as the only NNPC mega station in the state capital could not satisfy the huge population.

In order to give the state economy a boost, he assured the NNPC of the readiness of the government to provide lands for the construction of the stations.

It is hoped that the plan to increase the NNPC mega stations in Kwara State would soon materialise for the people to enjoy constant and timely supply of petroleum products.
