The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has directed the removal of 52 senior officers who retired between May 1, 2018, and April 1, 2025, from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). This action aligns with the federal government’s policy of maintaining an accurate and up-to-date payroll for public sector employees, okaynews.com reports.

A wireless communication, dated April 10, 2025, was issued by the police authorities, instructing the ICT/Computer Unit at Force Headquarters in Abuja, along with the Records and Data Management Section, to update their records accordingly. The communication referenced the official retirement status of the affected officers.

The memo, titled ‘Discharge and Retirement,’ was disseminated from the Office of the Force Secretary to various departments, units, formations, zones, and sister agencies. It served as a formal notification of the officers’ retirement and directed the relevant bodies to take necessary steps for their removal from the IPPIS payroll system.

This move is expected to streamline the NPF’s payroll management and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently. By removing retired officers from the IPPIS system, the NPF aims to maintain transparency and accountability in its financial operations.
