Corps members under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will start receiving their new monthly allowance of N77,000 by February, according to the Director-General, YD Ahmed.

Ahmed disclosed this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State.

He confirmed that the increase has already been factored into the 2025 budget, and payments will commence once the budget is approved by the National Assembly.

“Let me quickly inform you that the federal government has already approved the increment of our allowance. It is no longer news. We have the approval in our hands. All we are waiting for is just the passage of the budget. Once it is passed, hopefully by next month, you people will start receiving your new allowance. We are hoping that instead of the N33,000 it is now going to be N77,000,” Ahmed said.

The DG assured corps members that the federal government is committed to their welfare and security, urging them to serve with diligence and dedication in their host communities.

He also warned against misinformation, adding, “I have to tell you so that some unscrupulous elements will not be spreading false news. You should hear it from me directly.”
