Abuja, NIGERIA — The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has decorated his Military Assistant, Shuaibu Mohammad, with the new rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Okay News gathered that the decoration ceremony took place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama. The event was jointly performed by General Nafiu and the officer’s wife, Mrs. Hauwa Muhammad, following Mohammad’s recent promotion from the rank of Major.
During the ceremony, General Nafiu praised the newly promoted officer as a diligent and dedicated professional who has consistently lived up to expectations. He emphasized that promotion is a gift from God earned through hard work, noting that the new rank carries higher responsibilities and a greater call to service within the Nigerian Army and the NYSC.
