Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, operator of Oil Mining Lease (OML) 30 in Nigeria’s Niger Delta, has reported a significant turnaround. Years of restructuring, investment, and governance reforms are driving rising production and reserves.

Okay News reports that General Manager for Government, Joint Venture, and External Relations Adesola Adebawo announced the progress. He addressed media stakeholders in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub.

OML 30 is a joint venture between NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL). Heritage assumed stewardship amid inherited constraints and infrastructure gaps.

Management prioritised long-term stability over quick fixes. Efforts focused on system rebuilding, operational discipline, and governance strengthening.

“When we assumed stewardship on behalf of our JV partners SNRL and NEPL, we met an asset at a crossroads,” Adebawo stated.

“We chose the latter. There was no applause in those early days. Just steady, deliberate work,” he added.

Investments targeted people, infrastructure, digital tools, and capability. Alignment with partners pursued world-class operations.

OML 30 remains one of Nigeria’s largest onshore assets. It now follows a steady upward trajectory.

Safety and environmental standards guide activities. Risks are mitigated with cleaner technologies.

Community investments underscore shared value. In 2024, contracts worth $66.47 million went to 300 local vendors.

Over $1.4 million funded development projects. Scholarships supported 3,011 beneficiaries with N217 million.

Skills training reached 237 youths and women. Health facilities handled over 34,000 cases across four local government areas.

Digital transformation integrates into daily operations. It enhances efficiency and decision-making.

Adebawo likened the journey to a Chinese bamboo tree. Underground growth precedes rapid visible progress.

“The most exciting chapters of the OML 30 story are unfolding right now,” he concluded.

This revival contributes to Nigeria’s energy security. It demonstrates sustainable management in mature onshore assets.

Focus remains on safe operations, disciplined performance, and shared prosperity amid national production goals.
