The Leadership of the Ondo State House of Assembly has been suspended and an acting Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Majority Leader have been elected.

Jumoke Akindele

Malachi Coker is now the Acting Speaker, Ayodele Arowele is Deputy Speaker while Olamide George is the Majority Leader.

The suspension followed an allegation by the House Paymaster who was caught by members of the assembly with a sum of 15 million naira at the premises of the assembly complex.

When confronted, the Paymaster said that he was acting on the instruction of the suspended Speaker, Jumoke Akindele who ordered him to bring the money to her residence.

The House which eventually sat on Friday evening moved that the leadership under Jumoke Akindele had failed.

They agreed on her removal stating that they were not aware of the approval of the said sum of money by the House.
