Ondo Decides 2024: INEC Declares APC’s Aiyedatiwa Winner of Ondo Election

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared the winner of the Ondo State governorship election.

The results were announced on Sunday by Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, the returning officer for the election, in Akure, the state capital.

Aiyedatiwa secured a decisive victory with 366,781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.

“I, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, the returning officer, hereby certify that I am the returning officer of the Ondo state governorship election held on the 16th of November, 2024,” Akinwumi said.

“I hereby declare that Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”
