The Ondo State House of Assembly has officially confirmed the nomination of Olayide Adelami as the Deputy Governor of Ondo State.

Adelami, a seasoned administrator and former Deputy Clerk at the National Assembly, underwent a rigorous screening process before being confirmed during a plenary session chaired by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji.

The confirmation followed Adelami’s successful screening by the House Selection Committee, chaired by Speaker Oladiji.

Hailing from Owo, the hometown of the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Adelami’s nomination was sent to the Assembly by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Wednesday.

During the screening, members of the Assembly expressed confidence in Adelami’s ability to discharge the duties of the Deputy Governor effectively. Majority Leader Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi moved the motion for the confirmation, which was seconded by Felix Afe, representing Akoko North West Constituency 2.

Addressing the Assembly, Adelami expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the nomination, pledging to serve with dedication and loyalty.

He assured that he would not betray the trust and confidence placed in him.
