The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has suspended former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, citing alleged anti-party activities.

In a resolution addressed to the APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, and submitted to the party’s National Secretariat, the Osun APC accused Aregbesola, a former governor of the state, of undermining the party’s unity by creating a splinter faction within the party.

The party claims that Aregbesola’s actions have contributed to divisions, weakening the APC’s cohesion during a critical time for Osun politics. Party leaders assert that Aregbesola’s influence over certain groups has sparked internal discord, prompting the need for this disciplinary action.

This suspension represents a significant move by the Osun APC to confront perceived disloyalty and reinforce its leadership structure ahead of future elections.

Aregbesola’s camp has yet to issue an official response as the situation continues to develop.
