Osun State Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke has formally resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Okay News reports.

The development is contained in an officially signed letter dated 4 November 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area, Osun State.

The letter, written on the Office of the Governor letterhead, was acknowledged and received by ward officials on the same date.

Governor Adeleke attributed his exit to what he described as a deepening crisis within the national leadership of the PDP.

In the resignation letter, he wrote: “Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my Membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.”

Adeleke expressed appreciation to the party for the political platform it provided throughout his career: “I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”

As of the time of this report, Governor Adeleke has not announced the political platform he intends to join next, nor has the PDP issued an official reaction to the resignation.
