The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan on Monday again adjourned the hearing of a motion in a case filed by Folahan Adelabi against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), its Acting National Chairman, and others, rescheduling it for Wednesday.

Okay News reports that Justice Ladiran Akintola, who had last week ruled on an ex parte motion, ordered the PDP to go ahead with its planned national convention while postponing the full hearing of the motion on notice until Monday, November 10.

The applicant, Adelabi, is seeking a court order to prevent the defendants — Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, Governor of Adamawa State Ahmadu Fintiri (representing himself and the National Convention Organising Committee), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) — from obstructing or interfering with the conduct of the PDP’s national convention.

After hearing arguments from both sides on Monday, Justice Akintola directed the parties to “file all the processes for effective take-off of the case.”

He also instructed the PDP leadership to strictly follow the timetable, schedule, and guidelines previously released for the convention. The judge then adjourned the matter to Wednesday to consider all pending applications.

Access to the courtroom was restricted, and journalists were not allowed to cover the proceedings. Security personnel were positioned at the entrance to enforce the restriction.
