By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Maiduguri, NIGERIABorno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s four children are scheduled to be married in Maiduguri on Sunday, following a pre-wedding address by Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami on the foundations of stable marriages.

Okay News reports that Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, spoke on Saturday night ahead of the ceremonies for Umara, Mamman, Abba, and Aisha Zulum. During the event, Pantami described marriage as the most important social institution in human history, essential for building responsible families and a decent society.

The former minister stated that successful marriages depend on affection and mercy rather than love alone. Pantami defined affection as a product of emotional closeness and genuine care, noting that the purpose of a marriage contract is defeated without these elements.

He further emphasized that the benefits of marriage cannot be realized without patience, which he identified as the source of tolerance, forgiveness, and respect. Pantami observed that many contemporary unions fail within the first few years due to a lack of patience among the youth.

Pantami urged the younger generation to embrace contentment and perseverance to maintain stable households. He noted that current generations are the direct products of their own parents’ patience and tolerance.

The wedding ceremonies for the four children are scheduled to take place on April 19, 2026.
