Following the fracas in the APC over the choice of the candidate of the National Assembly Senate president,the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  has adopted APC’s Senator Bukola Saraki as their candidate for the position of Senate President in the National Assembly leadership election to be held today.

They also adopted Hon. Yakubu Dogara for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

According to a statement by National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, the party urged its senators and members-elect in the House of Representatives to support its candidates.

The party therefore urges its senators and members-elect in the National Assembly to act accordingly.”the statement read

Yesterday, the Bukola Saraki led fraction ignored a peace meeting with the vice president,Yemi Osibanjo.They claimed he had little political distance from Bola Tinubu who influenced the choice of  Femi Gbajiabiamila  as APC’s sole Senate president candidate.
